Timeline of Events

These are the final confirmed events involving Matthew Nichols and Jordan Reimer on the evening of October 31st, 2001.

3:45PM

At approximately 3:45 PM, both boys were seen at school near the end of the school day. Both boys headed home for dinner.

6PM

Matthew left the Nichols residence. His mother, Brenda Nichols, noted he was wearing a dark blue windbreaker and carrying a backpack.

6:17PM

At 6:17 PM, a clerk at the local gas station reported seeing Matthew and Jordan together. This was confirmed by a receipt of purchase.

6:40PM

Reverend Tom Sinclair reported seeing the boys heading toward Black Bear Forest off Highlands Drive. No further confirmed sightings of Matthew or Jordan were recorded.

Nov 13

A local hunting cabin in Blackbear Forest was searched. Inside, Matthew and Jordan’s video camera was recovered. The was the first physical piece of evidence found since the boys’ disappearance.

Nov 13

Fingerprint analysis confirmed that both Matthew Nichols and Jordan Reimer had handled the device. With no further leads emerging from this discovery, the case went cold and remains unsolved to this day.
